Common Questions About Outpatient Treatment

Learn more about our flexible PHP, IOP, and standard outpatient programs.

What is the difference between PHP, IOP, and standard outpatient?

PHP (Partial Hospitalization) is 6 hours/day, 5 days/week — our most intensive outpatient option. IOP (Intensive Outpatient) is 3 hours/day, 3-5 days/week, balancing treatment with daily life. Standard Outpatient is 1-2 sessions per week for ongoing maintenance and support.

What types of therapy are included in outpatient treatment?

Our outpatient programs integrate 12 evidence-based therapeutic modalities: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) with SMART Recovery, 12-Step recovery support, Family Systems Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Relapse Prevention Therapy, and Psychoeducation & Life Skills training. Treatment is individualized based on your clinical needs and may be provided in individual, group, or family settings.

Can I continue working while in outpatient treatment?

Absolutely. Our outpatient programs are specifically designed to fit around your work, school, and family responsibilities. We offer both morning and evening session times so you can maintain your daily commitments while receiving clinical care.

Do I need to complete residential treatment before starting outpatient?

Not necessarily. While many clients step down from residential or detox, outpatient programs are also appropriate as a first level of care for those with milder substance use disorders or strong external support systems. Our clinical team will determine the right fit during your assessment.

How long do outpatient programs last?

Program length varies by track and individual progress. PHP typically runs 2-4 weeks, IOP runs 6-12 weeks, and standard outpatient can continue for several months. Your clinical team will adjust the duration based on your recovery milestones.
